Šibenik Fortresses

If there is one thing which you would think Šibenik is most famous for, it's fortresses.
There are four fortresses in Šibenik:

Fortress of St John

This fortress is located at the higher part of the city. If you decide to visit it, you will have panoramic look. However, problem is that people are not allowed to enter inside the fortress, but only see it from outside. Still, I recommend visiting it, especially if your accommodation is located somewhere near.
Visit to this fortress is free.

St. Nicholas Fortress

This fortress is located at the end of St Anthony Channel. It has become part of UNESCO protected property as a part of Venetian Works of Defence between the 16th and 17th centuries.
Currently, there is no landing entrance to the fortress, but only seaside entrance. You would need to rent a boat or swim to enter (which is not bad idea in the summer). Even if you don't decide to enter, I recommend visiting it anyway because the whole St Anthony Channel is beautiful and worth visiting.
Visit to this fortress is free.

Fortress Barone

Barone is beautiful fortress located near Subicevac. It was arranged two years ago, and there are thousands of tourists visiting it every year. If you come in Šibenik town, then I advice you to visit it. There is a coffee bar inside fortress, where you can enjoy your favourite drink and panoramic view on Šibenik at the same time. Prices in the bar are average for Šibenik. You pay around 1.5 euro for coffee.
If you want to visit this fortress, you need to buy a ticket. The ticket is valid for visiting two fortresses: Barone and St. Michael's Fortress. The price for ticket is 50 kn (around 6.5 eur) for adults, and 30 kn (around 4 euro) for children. You can also buy family ticket for 110 kn (around 14.5 eur), which is valid for parents and their children up to 18 years.

St. Michael's Fortress

This fortress was also arranged a few years ago.
For visiting this fortress you need to buy ticket which is also valid for visiting Barone fortress.
